Company Identity & Contact

The data controller for moldDB is MoldDB LLC. For any privacy request, contact us at contact@molddb.com. We respond to legitimate requests within a reasonable period, generally within 30 days.

What information do we collect?

Information you provide. When you register, subscribe, request a quote, or contact us, we may collect your name, email address, company, billing address, and any other information you choose to provide.

Information collected automatically. As you use the Service, we may collect your IP address, browser and device information, referring pages, and usage data. We use this to operate and improve the Service, detect abuse, and improve your experience.

How do we use your information?

We use collected information to:

  • Personalize your experience and respond to your needs;
  • Operate, secure, and improve the Service and its features;
  • Provide customer support and respond to requests;
  • Process transactions and manage your subscription;
  • Send service messages, updates, and opted-in emails (with an unsubscribe option in every email); and
  • Comply with legal obligations.
Note: If at any time you would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, we include detailed unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of every email.

Legal basis for processing (GDPR)

Where we process your personal data, our legal basis is one of the following:

  • Contract: to provide the Service you subscribed to;
  • Legal obligation: to comply with applicable law;
  • Legitimate interest: for security, abuse prevention, analytics, and improving the Service; and
  • Consent: for non-essential cookies and optional marketing emails, which you may withdraw at any time.

Will your information be shared with anyone?

We do not sell, trade, or transfer your personally identifiable information to outside parties. This does not include trusted third parties who assist us in operating the Service, conducting our business, or servicing you — such as payment processors and hosting providers — so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential and use it only to perform these services for us.

We may also release information when we reasonably believe it is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our policies, or protect our or others’ rights, property, or safety.

Do we use cookies and other tracking technologies?

Yes. We use two categories of cookies:

  • Strictly necessary cookies: required for the Service to function (authentication, security, load balancing). No consent is required for these.
  • Functionality cookies: we currently embed video content hosted by YouTube, which sets its own cookies when you play an embedded video. YouTube is a third-party service governed by its own privacy policy. You may refuse cookies through your browser settings, though this may limit some features.

We do not use cookies for third-party advertising tracking.

Is your information transferred internationally?

moldDB’s primary servers are located in the United States. However, moldDB also allows you to run your own locally hosted instance and load your own data remotely, in which case your data may be stored and processed at the location you choose. Where personal data is transferred outside your jurisdiction, moldDB will apply appropriate safeguards.

How do we handle Third-party websites?

The Service may include links to, or embed content from, third-party sites (for example, YouTube). These sites have separate and independent privacy policies. moldDB has no responsibility or liability for their content or practices. We encourage you to read their policies.

How long do we keep your information?

Information collected as part of the Service is stored for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the Service. When an account is deactivated or deleted, we retain information only as required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

What are your privacy rights?

Depending on your jurisdiction you may have the right to:

  • Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • Request deletion of your information (“right to be forgotten”);
  • Object to, or request restriction of, processing; and
  • Withdraw consent at any time.

To make a request, contact contact@molddb.com. You also have the right to delete your account at any time, which begins the deletion of your information and withdraws your consent.

California Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance

Because we value your privacy, we comply with the California Online Privacy Protection Act. We will not distribute your personal information to outside parties without your consent, and California residents may update their information at any time by logging into their account and going to the Account Settings page.

California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA)

California residents have additional rights, including the right to know what categories of personal information are collected, request deletion, and opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information.

moldDB does not sell or share your personal information with third parties for advertising or any other purpose. Note that certain practices — such as embedding YouTube videos — may constitute a “sale” or “sharing” under the CCPA; you have the right to opt out by adjusting your settings or contacting us.

Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 years of age. If we learn we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it.

Data security

We implement administrative, technical, and physical security measures to protect your personal information. Transactions are processed by trusted third-party payment processors, and we do not store full payment-card details on our servers. No method of electronic transmission or storage is entirely secure, and while we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Deactivation of Accounts

You may deactivate your account at any time through your account settings. moldDB also reserves the right to suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms, is inactive for an extended period, or is used in a way we reasonably believe poses a security, legal, or abuse risk.

Online Privacy Policy Only

This online privacy policy applies only to information collected through our website and not to information collected offline.

Your Consent

By using the Service, you consent to our Privacy Policy and to the practices described herein.

Changes to our Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to keep up with changes in our practices and local and international privacy laws.

If we change our Privacy Policy, we will update the modification date below. Once published, the updated policy is considered effective.
